Here you can see the difference between the standard fit road version ring and the optional, forged aluminium bead locking ring. Through the force generated when fastening the nuts to seal the bead locking ring to the wheel against the tyre - this allows the tyre inflation to be altered to produce a larger surface area and greater contact area which in turn generates more grip when tackling serious off-road terrain. When you’re done off-roading, simply re-fit the road ring and re-inflate tyres to drive on-road again.
